A social gathering with a set programme of dance music including: New Vogue, Ballroom, Latin American, Line Dance, Sequence, Salsa, and Bachata. Strict tempo music.

Dance at your own level of experience and ability even if you have never danced before. Or come along and meet some people for a chat and listen to the wide assortment of music genre. Suitable as a ballroom dance competition practice session.

Programme includes 16 New Vogue dances where everyone dances in sequence. It’s kind of addicting doing what everyone else is doing, while feeling in the moment. That’s the benefit of dance, it’s a mentally as well as physically beneficial form of exercise. It puts you in the moment as does music and free expression of movement.

Held on the last Sunday of the month. Doors open earlier for the programme to start at 6pm.

Single entry door tickets are available at the dance.

At the dance, tickets for the following dance will be available during the supper break and thereafter. There are ten tickets of each: 6’s, 8’s, 10’s, 12’s, 14’s etc.

We are in the Theosophical Hall, 304 Church St,

on Fridays, 7.30-10pm

Bring along your instrument(s) and/or voice and come join in a fun, friendly musical scene for all ages. This is for anyone who is interested in playing, singing, or listening to folk music.

The Palmerston North Folk Music club meets every Friday night (except for public holidays & long weekends) at 8 pm, with a complimentary supper around 9 pm.

We have concert nights (5-6 times per year) and the rest of the nights we have a theme night which is in a sing-around format.

On concert nights guest artists, national or international, perform for us. These are quality musicians and well worth coming along to hear. On concert nights with guest performers the door charge is higher and details are found in our “What’s On” page on our website.

On non-concert nights there is a theme (see the “What’s On” page on our website) and everyone who comes along has the chance to perform (or request) a piece of music related to the theme, whether as a solo, as a small group, or with everyone.

If you don’t feel like performing yourself, then you are welcome to come along, sit back, and enjoy the music! Sometime after supper there’s the opportunity for a general jam session.

We have no EFTPOS facilities so all door charges are cash only.
